One Hundred Percent Go

Seasons greetings to all as we prepare to run the final voyage of the Royal Star 2021 long range season. As of now the voyage departing on the morning of the 28th is a 100 percent go. The weather forecast suggests breezy conditions offshore Tuesday afternoon coming down nicely Wednesday before switching to southerly winds 15 to 20 knots on Thurs. Nothing we see is more than one would expect fishing offshore at any time of the year; a little bump, rock, and roll is often part of the program. There is a possibility, if not likelihood, of rain, As we frequently say when it comes to fishing in the rail "the fish don't care, they're already wet". And it is true. I have yet to see a rainly day that definitively alters tuna and/or other offshore fishes behavior. Bring your rain gear anglers. They're game.

Look for Capt. Brian Sims to ply the offshore waters along with a handful of our colleagues that already departed today. Bluefin tuna will certainly be the primary target species on the upcoming three day run. Capt. Sims will keep the daily narrative current as the voyage unfolds. Enjoy today's image of Royal Star angler Andy Brotherton and Capt Brian Sims pulled from the archive. There are plenty like this out there awaiting Royal Star. Let's Go!!!
