Today was a great example of how fishing can change in just a matter of a day. We woke up this morning to a little bit snottier weather and way less condition than what the reports had been saying. On top of that wind against current on the anchor is not ideal for sleeping conditions so our group was a little beat up from a short night of sleep. Besides the long night, the boys were able to jig up a few big squid to fish on the kite to hopefully pick off a few more trophies.

Daylight came around and our current finally settled in to what we were expecting and the fish began to show up. Although the action wasn’t as steady as the past few days it was still a fantastic opportunity to catch a yellowfin between 40-140 pounds. After a decent Talley in the morning we decided to switch things up and troll around for a few wahoo and looking inside the shallows for some variety. Only a few wahoo wanted to bite the jigs and the bumpy weather brought us back out to our tuna spot.

To finish off our day we had a fun sundown bite catching some smaller school sized yellowfin. There was quite a bit of releasing but we did manage to tag a dozen 15-20 pound tuna. Tomorrow we’re gonna stick with the same game plan and hopefully catch a few more trophies before moving on to our next unknown destination .
