Finale time! With our dolphin fish knocked out today was a day for exotics. Still can’t believe we did this but today we targeted wahoo tuna and big blue marlin. With our local coastlines building up with life there’s been lots and lots of both blue and striped marlin around so we figured why not try and catch one with a beautiful catch already sitting in the RSW. There’s even been a sprinkle of wahoo like we’ve figured out earlier in the trip. After a half a day looking and virtually seeing nothing we bent it into the east to look through some different water.

After about 20 miles we located a beautiful strip of water that held the life we were looking for. Free swimming dorado, tiny tunas and marlin jumping around all over the place even a couple sonar balls of wahoo. We found a nice kelp in our little area that produced our first strike of the day landing a beautiful wahoo to start us off. Better yet it produced a flyline bite which also resulted in another wahoo. This gave us high hopes for the remainder of the day. Unfortunately we only managed two more blind strike which resulted in 2 more gorgeous wahoo and a striped marlin. this brings the total up to 8 wahoo for our 4 day. Incredible!

Tomorrow Gerb and I are back out for 3 with no plans in mind other than going out and fishin. Enjoy today’s photos featuring both wahoo and our billfish.
